New Year Newness
There is a unique, special stillness that occurs when snow begins to fall. The air is crisp and laced with anticipation of childhood games to come. Woodland creatures nestle down in dens and under brush to not only find relief from the elements, but to slow their normal, daily pace, understanding the frozen wonder will not last for long. Traffic begins to trickle down to only the few, minimal brave souls, or a handful of dare devils and the world, for a time, becomes quiet. I have always felt that snow brings a sense of newness to the earth. The opportunity to restart, refresh and restore a feeling of order and peace.
Those feelings of newness and simplicity became my inspiration, which grew into a desire to begin my writing journey. Our lives have become so convoluted with noise and distraction, we can quickly become overwhelmed, over stimulated and over loaded. But what if it didn’t have to be that way? Can you even imagine it?
My prayer, as we begin this quest together, is that through my thoughts and words, as feeble as those may be at times, we will begin a slow, steady exhale to release the breath we didn’t even know we were holding. I long to see tense muscles relax from the aching backs of mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. There is a great passion within me, to witness a revival of confident women standing firm on the simplicity of the gospel. I ache for peace, tranquility and serenity to drive away the chaos of anxiety, panic and depression from our minds.
I believe we can achieve simplicity of life, so please, allow me to link arms with you as we explore this possibility together.
Word Wednesday - This will be a weekly post on, you guessed it, Wednesday! Here we will discuss our faith, search out scriptures to encourage, challenge and grow us and seek a life in Christ that is fulfilling, invigorating and vibrant. I want our time in the Word to be exciting, taking us deeper in our understanding and developing strong roots of faith. For when your roots plunge down well below the topsoil, the winds can blow, you will sway, but you will not be toppled.
Manic Monday - Let’s call this a bonus post that will be sprinkled in randomly throughout each quarter on Monday. The pace of life is frantic, so I want to offer quick and easy dinner recipes, tips and tricks for getting your house tidy quickly (yes, even with littles), and other organizational type information designed to allow your week to run a little smoother. Who doesn’t want that?
Finance Friday - Another bonus post splashed around randomly each quarter on Friday. According to a survey done by the American Psychological Association, 72% of Americans stated they felt stressed regarding money within the last month. Money is a hot topic. Let’s say we throw some cold water on it and let the steam evaporate our worries while giving us a lovely complexion. Budgeting, spending, retirement, just to name a few of the topics that will be discussed.
Don’t forget to sign up for email alerts! I will be sending out additional scriptures, study material and other valuable information you don’t want to miss!
In this life we know we will have troubles, the Lord Himself told us. (John 16:33) Oddly enough, in the very center of a tornado there is a calm spot at the core. The problem lies in the fact that most of us are stuck in the outer vortex winds. I’m ready to fight my way to the center of the storm. Will you come with me?
